During right this moment’s Connect livestream, Meta introduced that it has acquired sport builders Camouflaj and Armature Studio.
Camouflaj developed the 2020 PlayStation VR sport Marvel’s Iron Man VR. That sport will probably be coming to the Meta Quest 2 headset in November. Previously, the sport was unique to PSVR.
Armature Studio is primarily recognized for ports of video games equivalent to Borderlands and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, together with Recore. In 2021, it launched a VR port of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4.
During the video games part of the Connect stream, Meta revealed that Resident Evil 4 made $2 million in income in its first day of launch. For video games and apps general, $1.5 billion has been spent within the Quest retailer.
Also acquired by Meta was Twisted Pixel, the studio behind 2019’s VR sport, Path of the Warrior. The studio’s earlier work contains ‘Splosion Man and LocoCycle.
While Camouflaj is engaged on a port of Iron Man, Oculus hinted that it and the opposite two newly acquired studios are at work on different video games.
“It’ll be some time earlier than we are able to reveal what they’re engaged on,” wrote Meta, “however we’re excited to proceed working with and supporting these builders as they carry formidable and forward-thinking video games to VR.”
