The web’s response to the trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie was fairly darn good… aside from the much-awaited debut of Chris Pratt as Mario. The response to his selection of voice (which is, nicely, Chris Pratt with a little bit of a Brooklyn accent) was lukewarm, at finest, not helped by Pratt’s personal lukewarm intro to the trailer through which he mentioned he beloved stomping Koopas within the arcade sport — which, by the way in which, is unimaginable; they did not have Koopas within the arcade sport, truly.
But it seems that lots of people on the market assume that Mario kind of seems like… Linda Belcher from Bob’s Burgers.
You cannot unhear it, be warned:
We already know what you are going to say. “It was only one line!” “Pratt sounds FINE, you are all simply having a sluggish information day.” “You’re simply leaping on the Pratt-hating bandwagon for clicks.” “I’M VERY TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT THE STUPID MARIO MOVIE.” Listen, we get it. One line sounding a bit like one other cartoon character? Not the worst factor on this planet. And Pratt in all probability sounds completely different in the remainder of the film. Probably.
But if we’ve got to observe one and a half hours of Linda Belcher inside a brief, pudgy plumber’s physique? We’re going to have a really bizarre time on the cinema.
What do you assume? Does this destroy Mario for you? Is Pratt’s voice superb, truly? Are you extra more likely to watch the film now? Tell us within the feedback.
