Natan Last’s New York Times crossword—Amy’s recap

NY Times crossword resolution, 10 1 22, no. 1001

Untimed, as a result of it’s been a protracted week with misbehaving nerves and sleep debt. Felt like a Saturday puzzle.

Never heard of: 25a. [Strategy to prevent a runner from stealing a base], PITCH OUT. Good gravy, the World Series goes into November? I believed baseball was nearly executed.

Fave fill: CROWD-SURFS, GERTRUDE STEIN, POSE NUDE, SHOOED AWAY, BABY FAT, BLUE’S CLUES, OCEAN VUONG, LIVES A LIE. Not positive about B.S. METER; bullshit detector feels extra acquainted to me however I’m positive there’s a lot of variance in what you employ. YEMENI takes me again to a Brooklyn ACPT when Tony Orbach and his daughter Sko led a bunch of us to a Yemeni restaurant for lunch, and the whole lot was scrumptious.

Love [Final four?] because the clue for the 4 HORSEMEN of the Apocalypse.

I’ll shut with a hyperlink to one among Natan’s poems, “The Runners.” Greek fantasy’s “Atalanta zoned for wildness” is a stunning bit, Natan.

Four stars from me.
