Tencent has bought a minority fairness stake in Polish studio Gruby Entertainment.

Founded in 2020 by a group of former People Can Fly builders, the studio is at the moment engaged on a cyberpunk hybrid FPS-roguelite referred to as Deadlink that is slated to launch in early entry on October 18, 2022.

According to Gruby CEO Grzegorz Michalak, Tencent’s backing will enable the studio to proceed increasing its staff and the scope of its initiatives.

“Gruby Entertainment studio celebrates its second anniversary this month, and we can not think about a greater acknowledgment of our work than sustaining a long-term relationship with one of many world’s most-significant and technologically oriented corporations,” added Michalak.

Gruby will reportedly keep full inventive and operational autonomy following the funding, with Tencent committing to serving to “improve the expansion” of the corporate and set up itself within the motion recreation market.

This is the most recent in a string of investments Tencent has made into European recreation corporations, with the Chinese firm having reportedly tweaked its M&A method to position a larger emphasis on sinking money into corporations outdoors of China.
