The event will use a novel Captain’s Draft format to decide on the first-round bracket. The 4 MPL Champions from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines will mechanically advance to the quarterfinals, be divided into 4 teams, and choose their opponents by putting groups into brackets.
A lottery-style draw will resolve the draught order. The Captain’s Draft will transfer ahead in a snake method (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1) after the order has been determined till all groups have been chosen.
