From the Gaming desk to the cosplay area, this week we’re speaking about authentic Dragonlance cosplay creations!

There is hardly a day that goes by once I gained’t prattle on about my adoration for the Dragonlance worlds. Dragonlance was my first fantasy collection, my first true literary love, and a continued supply of inspiration for writing, gaming, and role-play. I’ve at all times gravitated in direction of the wild elf cultures of the Kagonesti, so once I was tapped by The Weirdlings to affix their Heroes of Awesome Campaign, “The Dominion of Essalund,” it was a terrific alternative to create a personality from that world. I had a variety of enjoyable writing her backstory. I had probably the most enjoyable making a Dragonlance cosplay of her!

My objective was to create a druid character for fifth version D&D. The circle of the moon druid was immediately probably the most thrilling class within the system for me. I needed to create a druidic elf, and the wild elves made probably the most sense. I performed this character in just a few completely different campaigns, from the Weirdlings over to some homebrew campaigns as effectively. But my favourite a part of creating this character was the epic inventive photoshoot I did with my associates from AzulOx Visuals.

Dragonlance Cosplay Inspiration

My first D&D character sheet for her is HERE. Rowan is a Circle of the Moon Druid who has a particular affinity for reworking right into a bear. I used this as a hilarious plot system in many alternative story arcs. She’s a surly, sassy character who doesn’t do too effectively with individuals. Perfect for an delinquent Kagonesti with zero chill and a variety of tattoos!

I fell in love with Rowan from the second I created her. I made a decision in a short time that creating her for D&D was not sufficient for me, so began considering of the way to carry her to life. I point out usually my love of Renaissance Festivals, and the upcoming Sherwood Forest Faire was going to be an ideal alternative to manifest Rowan.

Rowan TrueMoon, A Dragonlance Cosplay

Rowan is a Kagonesti Elven Druid, who worships Lunitari, the pink moon, goddess of Neutral Magic. As a hunter of her tribe, she has the indicative tribal markings of her individuals, which Lunitari has imbued along with her personal particular model of magic. Her again is roofed with an enormous Rowan Tree, naked of leaves, with the moon of Lunitari hiding in its branches. As Rowan grows in her magic and helps the world restore steadiness from the chaos plaguing it, her tattoos sprout leaves, because the pink moon of Lunitari waxes and wanes.

To carry Rowan to life in the true world, I took a mix of earth tones and actually vivid greens. I wished to present her a wild, woody really feel with a pop of fantastical. I had a buddy create a stunning rowan tree out of henna down my arms and again, mimicking the tattoos that Rowan would have earned in her life with the Kagonesti tribe.

Collaborations with AzulOx Photography

My favourite images studio, Azulox Visuals, LLC, is strictly the place I flip once I need to carry inspiration to life. I contacted them when my cosplay for Rowan was accomplished. I knew they might love the problem of capturing her. I used to be not upset. We took our yearly journey out to the desert of Langtry, and used that wild setting to seize her essence. All of the photographs right here come from that shoot. You can see extra of their work, HERE.

Because I’m additional ridiculous, I created a poem to associate with my cosplay and D&D character. I used to be at all times keen on the gorgeous epic poems included within the Dragonlance novels and wished to create one in all my very own. Here is the outcome. I hope you take pleasure in and bear in mind – have enjoyable creating your personal characters and cosplays!
