This Centaur pintable (pinball machine espresso desk) isn’t any extraordinary and boring espresso desk. Designed and made by Loren (BuildXYZ), this wonderful creation consists of an actual absolutely functioning Centaur pinball playfield, albeit in a espresso desk format. Loren created this in time for Rockler Woodworking and Hardware’s 2021 #RocklerHobbyChallenge.

The completely different expertise and disciplines required to make such a labour-intensive creation shouldn’t be underestimated. From the gorgeous carpentry, paintings and playfield restoration, to the coding, engineering the customized rating decoder chip, Loren left no stone unturned.

We reckon BuildXYZ couldn’t have picked a greater traditional pinball than Bally’s 1981 early solid-state machine, Centaur. The labour of affection is obvious in each little element on this one-off espresso desk. To be capable to use it as your lounge room’s espresso desk and be capable to play Centaur, we reckon it doesn’t get any higher than this!
